Quarantine shuffles on

Bear’s Breeches about to bloom.

That hasn’t happened in a while.

Went by Candy’s for a social distance visit.  Chris made me a bouquet along with a lovely bag of arugula he grew. Haven’t had a man give me flowers in a while.

But this morning Ed brought me one. I had asked him to cut back our magnolia. It doesn’t bloom much and blocks the view from our porch.

It went from closed up to this in a few hours! Smells so good.

Got a few more to open.

It was so pretty today that Ju Ju ventured out.

He got enough outdoors very quickly.

Quarantine limps on

Truff and I had a glass of wine on the deck. She was disappointed that there was no ice. I went inside and got her some. I’m using Mary Grace’s favorite glass because I miss her sitting here with me. I miss all my kids horribly. I know I’m spoiled to have most of them close but that makes it even harder in some ways. And yes, it’s an old jelly jar.

Since nothing is going on in my life I’ll borrow Ivy’s for the blog. A neighbor gave her this rusty pot. She coated the inside to make it a fountain.

Then she added rocks and plants.

Then goldfish.

There may be one problem with the fish. See green circle.

Then some lights.

Isn’t it pretty?

It is so her.

Side garden.

Let’s go sit there.

Quarantine drags on

Ju Ju looks like he is glaring at me but we both just woke up from a nap and feel a bit bloopy.

Ed was contacted through Ancestry by a relative of mine. She lives in Northern California. She asked how he was connected to Hugh and Willie Brown. After a bit of discussion we figured out that her great grandmother was my Granddad’s sister. She asked if we had a picture of them so I took one of the ones we have on our wall. The reflection was kind of bad but I was afraid to take them out of those cool frames. My mom did remember several of the cousins they had in common.

Here are a couple more you might like to see, Karen.

Made it through a Sunday of storms.

Made it this far in this book.

Some Mississippi snow.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen them so covered in blooms.

Quarantine continues

Well it’s come to this. Hot rollers. My hair is so long and my curling iron is not working well.

I guess I’m revisiting the 80’s big hair. Look at that gray though. Guess I could have put some clothes on.

Jan brought me some okra, squash and tomatoes from Freshway. I tasted this one and deemed it worthy of this....

And this...

No pics of final product. We fell on them and then things got too messy for public viewing. Better go check Instagram for cute dog videos. Maybe some more have come up in the last 2 hours.

Friends

Thank goodness for friends.

Candy brought me a supply of books! They are in quarantine  for now.

Amy brought me some banana bread. I spoke through a cracked window to she and Spooky G. He is her cat that likes to ride with her on errands and to work.

Easter

Well it was a stormy Easter Day under very unusual circumstances. But as Pastor Lance said in his sermon (remotely of course) Easter has come anyway. We ate chicken nachos instead of our usual family meal. I decided to look at old Easter photos to cheer me up.

I’ll just post some in order.

Still just 2 girls

Baby on the way.

These little dresses can’t with a tiny bunny in the pocket wearing a dress to match their outfit

Maybe my favorite

These were pink lace

Matching days were over.

Love Sophie’s hair

One last one and I guess we went digital. No more prints.

Then there was egg dying

A lot of egg dying

And hand painted outfits. I loved doing that.

And hunts

Triumphant

So I boiled a few and stuffed them. I must have had so much energy back then.

I even made these crazy things.
