Party during pandemic

We combined Christmas book club with Bev’s birthday. She came down from her mountain to be with us.

We sat outside to be socially distant even though it was pretty cold.

Look at this gorgeous cake that Pam’s daughter, Carly made. She called it a fault line cake.

Definitely signs of the time.

Look how big they are getting. Coco is gaining on Sandy.

She insists on the small bed.

The other holiday treat. Ed’s jerky.

Goodbye and Hello

With sad , sad hearts we had to say goodbye to our dear Truffles.

After struggling with degenerative myelopathy for almost a year, she lost her ability to walk.

She was the best dog and will always live on in our hearts.

Junior really missed Truffles. This is him sitting in the empty dog toy box😞. After about a month we decided to adopt another dog. I just can’t live without one. I called my vet to alert them for a call from the shelter to verify that we would be good parents. I asked the vet if they happened to have any abandoned dogs. They had 2! We jumped in the car and went straight up there. Before we could think clearly we were headed home with both!

We must have been crazy. Total chaos.

Ed got collars. Both are girls from different litters.

2 speeds...on and off.

2 lovely beds.  Both cram into the small one

Ahh. Bed to myself

Would rather be in my chair

Junior putting up with it all.

I guess they are here to stay.

A little rain

Little mushrooms.

I’ve never seen blue ones.

They were so pretty.

These little ones were nearby.

And this big old one was huge.

And had a little one under it.

Quarantine bows out

I’m tired of thinking up words to go with quarantine. Frankly I’m tired of quarantine. Mom wanted to see pictures of the drive by shower for Jill’s son and fiancé.

Kathy pulled up in a clown car full of balloons.

Everything went fine until the hot sun unexpectedly popped a balloon every now and then.

It turned out so well.

Aren’t they cute?

Little cookie favors for guests.

Truff going with the open toed look.

Mary Grace made a drunken chicken. There is a can of beer inside.

These got boiled to perfection.

Got a craving for dressing. I took the ingredients over to MG’s house and showed her how to make cornbread and then dressing. I had seen some on Karen’s beautiful plate of food and that was it.

Quarantine stews on

Been craving oysters. I discovered canned oysters last Thanksgiving when I couldn’t find fresh.

They turned out fine in stew. Mom’s recipe.

Guess it’s September.

Truff had a good day today. Even read her book again.

Quarantine ...sigh

Top story. Busted Mom out. She , Jan and I sat on Jan’s screen porch for an hour and a half of talk talk talk. It was so good to see her. She brought her mini cabbage patch doll she bought at the St C’s closet sale to show us. It will sit in the mystery chair down her hall.

Ed made perfect boiled peanuts.

Found an old Halloween picture. Apparently Cary went as a naked kid that year.

Just Junior.

And this one of a young Truffles when she was small enough to hold.

She would lay like this every evening.

At a Petsmart party. She doesn’t look too happy. She did love to go to doggie daycare though. They had to put her in with the small dogs.  She had never been around big dogs and was afraid of them.

She is having a good morning today. Even rereading her favorite book.
