Ed and Truff doing some spring cleanup. She came in and passed out that evening.

Ivy asked for a few pictures of the yard.

She must be a little homesick.

She was saying what a fun yard it was to grow up playing in.

Only one or two little azaleas bloomed.

Finally got that dang TV cabinet installed. It was such a pain but everyone agreed it was worth it. Terrible picture does not show how gorgeous it turned out.

Sign of spring

Bunnies! Ivy let Buddy out. Look at that oxalis blooming there. Reminds me of Mamaw Brown’s yard.

She lets him explore and graze.

) Lafayette part deaux

This is part 2 of my Lafayette trip so don’t miss the one before. Also don’t miss Book Club. I sat down and caught up all at once.

Headed to Avery Island. Ivy loves the Jungle Gardens.

It was a little misty at first but the rain cleared out. It is a beautiful drive.

A flight of Cajun favorites for lunch.

Those trees!

We couldn’t keep Tripp out of them.

Gigantic azaleas.

The almost 1000 year old Buddha.

Amazing.

Almost lost Candy on the walk to see the egrets in their rookery.

Only to drive a short way and found you could drive up very close. Oops. Sorry Candy and her knee

Back home we decided to stay in and order po boys.

Monty loves them too.

Then he fell asleep in my arms.

Enjoying their cute deck and yard.

Ivy has done an amazing job on that yard.

The hard part, saying good bye

He made it even worse by doing this.

Lafayette

Finally got to visit Ivy and Tripp at their new place in Lafayette. I took no pictures of the front of the house which is precious.

The guest room awaits.

Their cute kitchen.

Of course we started with food. Got there just in time for lunch at the Blue Dog Cafe.

It is owned by the family of the real Blue Dog artist.

So they are from right here In Lafayette.

So many of his originals. We all had a different favorite. Food was great too.

Took a walk around the cute square.

And “Y” not?

Their azaleas were in full bloom.

Back to the house to see the grandog, Monty. I look a bit wind blown. It was quite gusty due to a cold front coming in.

Grandbunny, Buddy

Cosmo, the original.

Miss Bossy, shy kitty inherited from Grandma.

Little Kitty ( not really ) now called a Misty also inherited.

And this picture says it all. Wilson is quite the character. Insists on being petted and gets his way. He is the newest rescue but runs the place.

My turn

Book Club was at my house this month. We read the book that I was so crazy about.

I’m afraid Little was a little too strange for everyone else’s taste. Well hope they liked the food

Not knowing whether to plan for spring or winter menu, I opted for spring. Ina Garten’s Roasted Shrimp and orzo salad. Tried to use my Meyer Lemon in everything. Meyer lemon ice box pie for dessert remained unphotographed. Had 2 folks out so we were happy to have Candy join us.

My little lambs came out.

Love to use my Aunt D’s aqua china. See the little Milagros at each plate?

They came from New Orleans. In the Catholic tradition they are used in prayers for healing of that part. They fit perfectly with the book and I just think they are charming.

Sunny and cold

What a relief to have sunny and cold weather today.

And I do mean very cold. It’s the kind of weather that sent the girls running for Barbie and ice skates back in the day.

Everywhere I looked in the house there was an animal asleep in the sun.

Truff was considering going out but decided no.

Amy’s cat Spooky G got a new harness...

and likes it. He is the most amazing cat.

Ok...this is in my crockpot. It seems like the craziest thing. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews. Sophie tried it last week and told me about it. It obviously went viral as Mississippi pot roast. Roast on bottom, envelope of ranch dressing mix, envelope of au jus mix, pepperoncinis and juice poured over and a whole stick of butter on top. We will see.
