Little trip part 3

Realized I left this one out. I loved it. A bit like Abbey Road.

Little trip part 2

Next we headed to Hattiesburg. Sophie showed us the Pocket museum. It was decorated for Christmas. There were paintings on the floor.

But tiny, tiny scenes are hidden everywhere.

Those are chopsticks

The paintings were so ingenious.

When you photographed some of them they looked 3 dimensional. Also it was freezing in that alley!

Looks like she is in a hole standing on a shelf. Then we went to visit Robert St John at Crescent City Grill.

Little trip

First a picture of the queen of Christmas.

My Mamaw Brown. How she loved to cook and make things for us. One year an afghan. One year quilts. I’m sure it took her all year.

One year it was embroidered shirts for all of us.

Sophie, Mary Grace and I went on a short trip to Ocean Springs. This is how it started. Felix’s Oyster house.

We had been thinking about this all the way down there and it did not disappoint. That is my shrimp poboy and oyster artichoke soup.

Our reason for going was for naught. MG wanted to order a block print of pelicans for over her mantel. We wanted to pick out the colors she wanted. Sadly they aren’t taking orders until after Christmas. They did say we could do it online later. Oh well we had fun anyway. Also went to Shearwater pottery.

This is the cute little house the girls found to rent.

Great room / kitchen

Chilling until dinner.

My corner of comfort. We each had a room.

We went to Patio 44. Much to cold for the patio but we enjoyed seeing their goblet of fire ….. and water.

Started with a cocktail. Sorry didn’t take food pictures here.

But Sophie did take one of these shoes. This cute couple were out celebrating his birthday. The heels had fish floating in them! Not real of course.

Walked a couple of blacks to Tatonut.

It was packed and everything looked so good.

Walked back home to enjoy them. They are made with potato flour and a very different and good.

Book Club Christmas

We gathered at Reunion Country Club this year. It is a beautiful place. Had a very private quiet room where our old ears could hear.

I had some ask what was in my packages. This was the small one.

He was so cute and silly.

This is how he works.

This was the wine I found to go with it. Each bottle sold gives a donation to an animal shelter. They had actual shelter dogs on the label. Should have taken a picture of all of them.

Everyone gave such thoughtful things. The bottle of beer is used to make Herb Beer bread from Jill.

Do you remember a cat in the Christmas story?

Got my happies all ready for Book Club Christmas tomorrow.

Coco tried on an elf hat. She really looks like Dobby in this one.

Went to Candy’s to put up her Christmas decorations. A nutcracker for every year since 1993.

And her tree. She and Coco watched and approved. Also had the Beatles special on in the background.
