Ad-Meyer my lemon bread

So Meyer lemons are quite the thing and I completely understand. They are a cross between a type of lemon and a tangerine. Sweeter than most lemons.

Candy gave me two from a bag she had bought. They are in season now. I zested them and squeezed them.

Made lemon bread. While still hot you pour a syrup made from the juice and sugar, or in my case Truvia.

It was perfect.

Interestingly, now I’m reading this. The bread was anything but bitter.

Our one little wild pear tree is blooming like crazy.

So I decided to take some for church tomorrow.

Used my old Pickenpaugh vase given to me by my sister in law, Kaye back in 1985. Date is on bottom...not from memory!

A cat story

A cat story in pictures.

They look like possible friends.

Ju Ju feels a bad mood coming. Right after I took this he jumped on Pepper and bopped him.

Pepper jumped up on my chair. What came next?

He really is a bit of a demon.

Later on he took a nap with the one he does like.

This was a different nap day. They were on my bed. Right after I took this Truffles moved her legs and it made Ju Ju mad. He bit her on the ankle and ran off. Maybe I should stop photojournaling. It seems dangerous.

Ed and I celebrated our 36th anniversary at Koestler Prime. Started out like this.

Petite fillet. Major mushrooms.

Boats and books

Got to go on my first boat ride on Lake Lorman. It was cold but good. Dupree and I kept each other warm.

Daphne is loving it.

It’s true lake life is great!

4 nappers

A different nap day. Ju Ju loves his Truffles.

It’s that time of year.

Paul took this on a different Sunday. I think I’ll
make it my official Grandma photo.

Ok. Jill may be the winner for most creative Book Club meal prep idea. Cook your own! Fondue.

We had so much fun cooking steak and mushrooms in savory broth. We each had color coded skewers.

Then she changed to pot to chocolate.

We then dipped fruit and angel food cake bites in. Great job Jill. We read Unsheltered by Barbara Kingsolver. Very good.

I got a kick out of petting her dog Tika.

So Ivy Rose is studying Floral Design. She loves her at home class room.

I remember studying all these things at State.

I told her she comes from a long line of floral people. I do it and my Mom did it for many tables over the years. This is a poem that was written for my grandmother by her UMW circle.

We both got appropriately weepy over it. This is no connection to our current friend Doris Jones from Madison.
