Thanksgiving

Small group this year so decided to try Cornish hens.

Trussed up and prepped. Rubbed with mayonnaise and seasoned.

Came out perfect

Dressing came out great too.

Tommy got sick. Jan stayed home just in case. So it was Mom, Amy2, Ed and I. Small but fun. We talked about Thanksgiving past.

What the Patricks did today.

November Book Club

We were all nostalgic and delighted by her Pickapepper, cream cheese appetizer. Hadn’t had it in years.

Priscilla set a gorgeous table.

Used her great grandmother’s china. Love it.

Occupied Japan pieces were made 1946-52.

Chicken mushroom pasta. Artichoke stuffed bread and salad. All so yummy.

Her cat BB is so cute and sweet. I just couldn’t get a good shot of his preciousness.

And yes , it is that time of year.

Eternity

Ok…this is getting spooky. I saved one flower from those arrangements I did over one MONTH ago. It still looks fresh.

See?!?

Everybody was happy for some cooler weather and a fire.

Cuties.

More food.

Ed wanted fajitas. Made Spanish rice to go with them.

Onions and peppers on grill.

So good.

Ordered this blue willow necklace online. I love it.

Dark and rainy day.

Been craving wings. Tried 2 different methods. Both good

I did but didn’t get the results I wanted.

Ham, mushroom and spinach quiche. I like tomatoes on top but it affected how it baked. Still good though.

My current job. Shower before.

After.

Dark, rainy day had me baking pumpkin, walnut muffins.

And chili for dinner.

Pumpkins and fire too.

Everyone getting cozy.

For Mom

I know I can’t top the breakfast queen but I did ok today.

Started with an iffy avocado. I think I got cheated in the seed to fruit ratio? Is avocado a fruit? Guess so.

Just as I suspected.

Still had enough for my English muffin.

Then it got even better.

Cute pic of Monty on his way to McDonald’s. Ivy said he gets a sausage patty. All the workers know him.

You love it or hate it…

…and I for one love it. So does Ed fortunately. Liver and onions.

In search for inspiration, I was perusing the meat counter and spied some calves liver. Haven’t cooked them in a long time. Tons of onion.

There are 2 schools of thought on how to do this. Sauté with or without flour. I chose flour because Ed loves gravy. It was great. Enough for an army though.

The finished plate. Ed had rice for his gravy. I had a bit of leftover baked potato.

Chowing down on a bone.

Sandy got it next.
