Mushrooms and mosquitoes

With all this rain and soaring temps and humidity I knew there were bound to be mushrooms in the backyard.

So I sallied forth (what a weird saying, look it up Mom) but was nearly knocked over by the heat and humidity as I opened the door.

But I persevered for my fungi fans.

Even though I put on bug spray, I got a bite on each appendage. These look just like biscuits.

This one made me gasp. It was the size large coffee mug. And my favorite color.

Look at his cute gills.

This poor baby was someone’s breakfast.

Very cute.

My fellow hunters. They gave no argument when I headed inside.

My girl and I.

Margaret sent me this picture of “Candy’s” rose blooming. I miss her so much.

I was pretty proud of this one.

Last minute request for pool party.

Love this scene. ALL my babies in one room.

Gathered to celebrate Father’s Day.

Look at all the good food Ryan and MG made. He needs to work on his biscuit skills before opening a biscuit restaurant.
But look at that steak and sausage gravy.

I was good though.

Everybody got a laugh out of his card. He is still talking about the thermostat in this picture 🙄.

One last shout out to me. Salmon salad.

Having fun with Sophie thinking about beach food.

Ready for new Book Club. Took hardly any pictures.

Had plenty to eat and drink and plenty to talk about. Had 11 people. Discussed Remarkably Bright Creatures . Everyone loved it. It was interesting how many different takes we all had on it.

Fun visit with Anna and Margaret. Lucky was cute as ever.

Hello little one.

Got our new fridge and stove. So much tape!!

Love it though.

Grilled dinner.

It was yum.

Tiny dancers

I love these delicate gray mushrooms. They look like silk ballet skirts to me.

Tiny dancers.

This one was not quite as open.

More dog in whole time.

What in the world is this? Saved it from my parents storeroom. It’s concrete and metal. Weighs a ton. Is vented on bottom.

Inside are more vent holes. Maybe an old, old portable grill? Something to carry hot coals in?

Starkville 2

Headed out for much anticipated breakfast.

Coffee was so good.

It didn’t disappoint.

One of the goals of this trip was putting up a wreath in the cemetery. This charming little fence is around “Kicky’s Garden”. It encloses the Fisher / Hogan plot. Amy’s parents and grandparents are there. Headed home.

Starkville 1

Quick trip as a business tag a long. Amy2 had a site visit in Starkville. Beautiful convention center, The Mill, was impressive. This is the connected hotel Marriot.

Saw this T shirt at lunch. I totally disagree however.

Amy2 swore that this old Coke machine in an alley still worked. I didn’t believe it for a minute.

She proved me wrong.

One of Amy’s colleagues at Starkville Tourism gave us each a cowbell!

Our view from the room of the hotel. MSU stadium.

Visited Amy’s aunt Sara.  She was so great and had a lovely yard and home.

Lunch here.

Lovely pool.

Had mushrooms by the pool.

You can tell we are in bully town.

Ok. I never post my Wordle victories but I had to show y’all this one. It’s skill plus luck in this game.

Coco has her own toys at Aunt Amy2’s house.

Ok, there was a hole and a dog fell in.

She enjoyed it thoroughly.

Then someone else enjoyed it.

Now sleep.

Vat of veggie soup.

A little cuddle.

May I get credit for this healthy dinner? Visit to Freshway.
