Just Charming

I got a little present in the mail. I had ordered it for myself. Didn’t know it would be so cute.

A little silver swan charm to remember my trip to Lake Junaluska. They don’t really sell these in stores much anymore.

This is my adult life bracelet. That last charm was a joke gift from Ryan but I kept it on there.

In contrast here is my high school, college, young adult one. It was such fun collecting them.

I spread it out a little more so you can see it better.

Pepper has got it in the bag.

A little side eye.

Every animal loves the new rug.

Had Book Club in one of the most beautiful spots I know. Priscilla’s back porch. The weather was cool and perfect.

She served a salade Nicoise. It was beautiful, fresh and delicious. We discussed The Lincoln Highway. I loved it. Got mixed reviews from others.

Mother’s Day camping

As usual I took very few pictures while camping. Guess I’m having too much for or I’m just too lazy.

Drove through some horrible , driving rain. It cleared by sunset.

Woke up to clear and beautiful. I love that cypress tree.

Apparently everyone brought chips.

There were healthy choices.

The steaks they were cooking were fabulous.

Mom waiting on the pancakes by Tommy.

Coming events.

Headed out for belated Mother’s Day camp out. Heard it’s gonna be wet and warm! How lovely. Doesn’t matter we will all be together. Can’t post from the woods so stay tuned.

Wedding week 4

On to the wedding. Amy and Ivy Rose at the reception.

Good friends. It was so cold!

Look how happy!!

What a good photographer they had!

Got in our car and headed home Sunday morning. Finally got a picture of one of the swans.

View from the top of the lake.

These beautiful trees must be some type of cypress.

Look at that old ivy vine.

My first time in a Buc-ee’s. I was overwhelmed. It was like the old Stuckey’s grew up 100 times.

The 20 foot jerky wall.

I insisted that Ivy have a picture with Buc-ee himself.

While out walking yesterday I stopped to smell a magnolia. The neighbor came out and gave me some. My favorite flower smell.

Wedding weekend 3

Went for a quick visit to see Kat in the bride’s room. Instructions to get there were, “go in the front door, turn right, walk down the hall until you hear them”. It worked.

Ivy Rose and I took a walk around the lake. I fell in love with the lichen covered steps. Many of these lakefront homes are over 100 years old.

Walked across the pedestrian bridge.

Rhododendrons were blooming.

So pretty.

We could see our house across the lake.

She couldn’t resist this stump.

Had the, no joke, the best hamburger I’ve ever had here. It was half burger half ground brisket. 😋. On the the wedding!

Wedding weekend 2

Arrived at Lake Junaluska to find Amy relaxing on the deck of our cute lake house.

The weather changed minute to minute.

This was our view.

View from our couch! So great.

Ivy and I took a little time re-exploring the area. Here is the old dorm building we stayed in with youth groups. We both had different memories of our times there 35 years apart. Ivy didn’t really like it that much but I had a blast. Of course I was worried about kissing boys and bus romances along with my spiritual journey.

Took a walk through Susanna Wesley garden.

I bet she had her hands full with all those kids.

The view from the top.

All the azaleas and rhododendrons were in bloom.

This made me think of you , Mom.

A little Methodist humor.

That afternoon we explored Waynesville. It is a cute mountain town right next to Junaluska.  We had a nice dinner at a place called The Sweet Onion. How do you like this little guy? We had mushroom ravioli. Then back home to enjoy the view.

Wedding weekend 1

Ivy and I headed out at 6:00am to North Georgia to spend the night with Bev. Tomorrow we head to Lake Junaluska for Kat Byars’s wedding.

Her beautiful view.

 View 2

Her garden.

We stopped at this cute river front restaurant in Chattanooga for lunch.

The river.

We sat outside.

Our drive by the river was so fun.

It rained but even it had its own beauty.

We viewed it under our umbrellas.
