More birthday

Hey, you’re only 60 once. Right? But you can have as many parties as you want.

I knew it would be a good time the moment I pulled up to Jill’s house. First I saw Medea’s car from Mobile and then the party flag.

Candy was glowing over the appetizer array.

I was served up my requested Bloody Mary.

My lovely sash and crown.

Things were bustling in the kitchen.

Beautiful.

And delicious.

It was lovely by the pool. We were able to get in later. Only a few raindrops.

Book clubbers past and present.

And speaking of presents. So many thoughtful things.

And then the traditional turning 60 song written by Priscilla.

It was very sweet. I cried.

My cake was a Coca Cola cake.

Looks like we will have a new game to play at the beach. Ring toss. I know it was a pool party but I should have put on a spot of makeup. Yikes

Doggy stuff

I can’t believe she posed for this. Her pterodactyl toy looks like the wings are her ears.

Kelly Anna’s cute dog, Sunny. She is half Coonhound and half Basset hound.

She is Gibb’s new love.

Truff, exhausted but feeling great after her grooming / furminating. She smells like coconut.

Just putting things in perspective.

Some of the beautiful art I’m considering for my project. Love the faces for a place that makes faces lovely.

What skill it takes to master watercolor

My colors.

Had to go all the way to Pensacola to select flooring but got an unexpected pocket of fun.

Got to see these sweet guys.

They took me to a restaurant they love.

The boys love the outdoor games.

Karis danced off down the beach.

We even dipped our toes in. Look she even inherited my space between our big toe and others. Can’t wait for beach week.

Camera couldn’t focus well in the dusk but you get the gist?

My bed for the night.

My morning coffee. A quick trip just left me wanting more time with them.

New art at The Bank. Old maps.

And then this happened. After all the discussion and preparation it came silently and happily.

The kids came over with steaks and gifts to celebrate Father’s Day and retirement. Sorry no pics. It was fun though.

Flowers for someone else’s event.

Couldn’t resist the sunflowers with the fuscia.

Speech and books

Proud of her. Pooky made a speech! After completing training within the state system, she was selected by her fellow students to be the graduate representative. This was from a large group. She got a couple of chuckles and some tears from Margaret and I. She would have made Truman proud.

Book Club. Jill picked Breakfast at Tiffany’s to read, along with The Body by Stephen King.

She teased Priscilla about not having time to read the book. Penalty...dress as character Holly Golightly.

She didn’t disappoint

She looked great

Jill joined her. Cooking as Holly.

Beautiful table.

Rosemary butter grilled Brie sandwiches.

She changed into a vintage dress to serve Pavlova. So good. She decided she was Gordie’s Mom from Stsnd by Me (movie based on The Body).

Random catching up

If you are a fan of Dot’s blog, and you should be, here is the view from her balcony she refers to.

This was the sunset one of the nights I stayed with her during her recovery.  A bit of heaven I think.

A beautiful shower food table set for Sue’s son’s fiancĂ©.

At Priscilla’s beautiful house. Check out the cake Suzy baked.

Flowers by Pam, invitations by Bev, everyone did a great job.

Lady Beatrix greeted everyone.

Next event was Philip’s wedding.  Some old friends.

Vick and I. I look like her little pet. It was a gorgeous wedding.

Fun day at the pool. Finally got to meet Ivy’s little godson Emmi. What a doll.

His cute mom, Charlotte.

Then this happened.

Ed bought a fishing kayak.

Instant retirement fun. Just add water. One more week
