When she’s 64

Amy2 almost catches up with me every year. For a few months we are only 1 year apart in age.

We waited to surprise her. At our favorite Anjou.

Daughter Kat sent gifts and a cake.

We had fun.

Spring cleanup

Not a large scale clean but cleared out sticks and leaves, cleaned little table and touched up chair paint.

Fountain is sparkling. Ready for new fish residents. Lost my last ones in that heat and drought.

Eager helpers.

They thought they were water fountains just for them. They drank a gallon or so.

Won’t pout about trout

Ryan shared some of his trout catch with us. Yummy on the grill stuffed with lemon.

Got Mom some plants for her pots. Repainted her fairy furniture.

Hope they do well.

Last summer they all burned up.

Finally

Haven’t had mushrooms lately. Guess it finally got warm enough for long enough. This one is very shiny. It almost looks like plastic.

Coming out from under a log.

Oxalis drifted under my neighbor’s fence.

Flowers for administrative professionals day. For their desks.

Goodbye Mobile.

I’m going to miss this one.

She loves to sit on the porch with Medea.

Decided to end our visit with a visit to Dreamland bbq. I’ve always seen it on the way to the beach on I65.

It did not disappoint. They bring this to the table! Sauce was so good. You dip your bread right in it.

Fried okra

MG got a pulled pork sandwich.

I got a potato with bbq chicken.

Look where they cook it right in the restaurant.

Medea’s sweet mom joined us along with sister Lydia. What a great trip.

What a nice surprise to come home to Ed’s red beans and rice.

Mobile 5

Headed downtown for brunch.

Another beautiful old building.

Medea and Mary Grace sampled a cucumber martini

There are beautiful parks everywhere.

My good bud.

These facades were perfect art deco.

We went in this old peanut shop.

It was an old fashioned candy and nut store.

The original roaster was turning and smelling delicious.

We walked off lunch in beautiful weather.

This was so fun.

So cute inside.

MG met Mr. Bingley.

Mobile 4

Look at these beautiful elephant ears.

I’ve never seen one bloom before.

Mobile 3

Good morning Shi

I’m going to miss these girls.

Went to The Pirate for lunch. It is on Dauphin Island.

It’s in a gorgeous old mid-century building.

Here is the pirate.

Love the old terrazzo floor.

Look at this ceiling.

Round second floor.

And the view.

Our view from the table. I love this island.

We split scallops and flounder ponchartrain.

We split a bushwaker.

They used tile in the color scheme I’m using at the new restaurant.

Look at the detail.

Got another shot.

Visited where Dog river meets the bay. So pretty.
