Book club July 23

Lovely table at Sue’s. We read Covenant of Water. Long but wonderful book. One of all of our favorites.

Look at these Roseville china candlesticks. Love them.

The spread.

Pulled chicken, salad, perfectly seasoned peas and guacamole on toast.

Strawberry and shortbread.

How Sandy beats the heat.

Shrimp

I’ll call this Beach salad. We boiled some of the shrimp we brought home from the beach. Shrimp, tomatoes and corn.

We saved out some and Ed made scampi.

How do they stand that heat?

More sofa shenanigans.

These dogs

When someone gets caught stealing my chair.

Don’t feel sorry for her. She can be comfy anywhere.

Likewise with Coco. In the sofa hole again.

Look at that belly.

Fed Bobbin for Amy2.

Love his Siamese eyes.

Ok. She drank my coffee and is happily licking her chops in my chair! The chewed coaster is also her handiwork.

Orange is the color

Pretty orange and yellow.

And this surprise. Must have spread under the fence from neighbor’s yard.

These started out peachy.

Same batch a few days later. Chris says they are chanterelles and very edible. Scared to try without him looking at them.

Another similar one which is NOT edible.

You have to admire even the ugly ones.

This lone big guy was in the middle of the Patrick’s yard.

His gills were purplish brown.  About 6” across.

When I first saw this I was afraid one of the dogs had diarrhea. 🫢

I’ll end with sweet sister pillow picture.

Back to real world

Juju was glad we are home.

Pepper rolling on his care instructions.

Used leftovers from Mexican night at the beach to make perfect eggs.

Lots of rain and heat made mushrooms pop out

Beautiful orange

Nice.

Picked up the girls. They passed out.

So glad to be home.

Stopped at produce stand. Back to home cooking b

Evening came and still sleepy.

Juju back on his ottoman.

Beach 5

We are home now but realized I didn’t post our group picture Paul took.

This is everyone who was there.

Gift Amy2 gave me came in handy.

One last day on the beach on Saturday.

On the way home Ed, Ryan, Mary Grace and I stopped for lunch on the causeway. It was so good!!

Ryan had to try the Zoltar. Now just have to go pick up my puppies tomorrow.

Beach 4

Johnny comes every year.

Seafood lasagna.

Lots of trouble but worth it.

Water rolls. So light and fluffy. Not homemade.

Love the view from the kitchen sink.

Everyone loved it.

Next morning headed out to the beach.
