Our Thanksgiving

Since I really wanted turkey dinner, my sweet kids were good enough to have a second one. And in Paul and Sophie’s cast , a third one.

We all got together at MG and Ryan’s house. 2 of my girls.
3 if you count Daphne.

Ridiculous amount of food for 7.

The boys.

Mom digging in.

All the standards were there. Maybe next year I’ll agree to something different.

I was so happy to be together.

Ryan explaining punkin chunkin to the dogs.

Mary Grace up first.

Sophie sets up her shot.

They all burst on first impact.

Thanksgiving

Since we celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday due to kids going to husband’s family, we are on our own on the day itself.

Started out by improvising a breakfast. I had enough sausage to make a fourth of a recipe of sausage balls.

Just enough.

Eaten while watching the parade.

On to the next recipe. Yes!!

Cornbread for dressing tomorrow.

Chocolate chess ready.

Oh. Sensing a holiday an appliance went out. Ice maker and water stopped in fridge. Improvised by making ice cubes in mini muffin tins.

Linda sent a pic of her family visiting.

Jan and Tommy with Cary’s family. Such fun.

The Cleaners

The new Pizza Shack in Brandon is in an old building that was built in 1949 as a cleaners. It has been fun designing on that theme.

These are upholstered panels that I hope will help with noise.

They turned out so good.

They are teal, sort of mustard yellow and tomato red. They were also a bit of a pain to put up.

Here is the bar. I love the stools and lights.

Here is the tap wall. You can taste all the kinds you like. Real old washer doors are coming to fill holes.

Ok. Best beggars. I was having a sausage biscuit.

New headshots.

Aren’t they regal?

Not as regal.

Um. Special?

Trying to blog.

Can you tell what time it is????

Cheesy Advent calendars for the kids who are 30 and up.

I always loved my Mamaw Ellis’s chicken and dumplings. She tried to teach me to make them.  I was too young for it to sink in. I used frozen dumplings. They tasted really good though.

Dogs

Nothing much to report so here are dog pics.

Headshots

They look so regal.

But this morning they were begging mercilessly for sausage biscuit.

Finally got to try Half Shell in Madison. Took Mary Grace to an appointment and she wanted to go eat lunch. We busted down the door at 11:00. I was wearing work out pants and tennis shoes. No one cared.

We tried oysters every way they had them. Only got a picture of the fried. We agreed to only get chargrilled next time. They were best.

Look at that sweet face. Sandy’s not mine.

Here is the other end.

Coco is not interested.

Then between the chair and my ottoman.

Book Club August birthdays. Had a hard time getting to them. I enjoyed buying and wrapping them.

Look at their gorgeous cake. Made by Pam’s daughter. It tasted good too.

Beautiful table. Bev got to come too.

Priscilla was our host.

Still a little shocked when I see my hair.

Soup, salad and bacon monkey bread. Old recipe. Not sure how it got that name.

The birthday girls and their cake.

Linda sent us a cute Halloween card. Pepper especially liked it.

He loves to sit on the arm of my chair while I read.

Speaking of which, this was a really good one. Give me a circus and a few freaks and that’s a great book.

One more Pepper pic.

Mom’s fall table.

I wanted a lap dog…just ordered the wrong size.

Meanwhile.

Perfect scallop dinner.

Watched a really good show about Walter Anderson. Produced by Robert St John. I knew a lot about him but I learned much more.

Woke up to lots of fog.

English muffin with cream cheese and candied jalapeƱos. Yum. However, just smeared some cream cheese on my screen.
