Pancake

So...pets are certainly enjoying the quarantine.

Here is Mary Grace’s coworker, Dupree. I told her she better turn him over so he won’t get bedsores.

Then she sent me this!  She literally flipped him over like a pancake.  And he didn’t even mind!

Purple

The color of Lent is purple. Our yard is certainly responding.

Can you see the violets lining the path?

They have been spectacular this week.

Mahonia getting in on it.

This patch is huge.

We have a new / old pond. The low spot is filled up for now. Truffles loved to walk in it. The game of Spot the Dog has gotten much easier with everything green now. See her?

No hiding in the pine straw.

Not purple but Lent appropriate. English dogwood.

Speaking of color.  Look at this gray. Should I let it go? Quarantine has left a lot of us out of our usual hair care.

More quarantine

I’ve been craving cake ever since I took one to Carlton and Pam for dinner. I discovered why when I cleaned out my backseat. The unwashed Bundt cake pan was in there smelling yummy.

Found a possibly ancient half box of yellow cake mix. Who has a half a cake mix ? Sophie asked. Well I made a small cobbler at some point. Anyway I made them. A little flat but good to go.

Made a tiny bit of chocolate buttercream icing.

Iced a few and froze the rest. Worth it! I’ve heard people talk about the Freshman 15. You know the weight you gain that first year. Well I propose the Quarantine 20. I have never seen so much baking and cooking that people are posting. I know for sure that 2 of my daughters made Smoky Oats (boiled cookies to Ellises)

Found out puzzles aren’t as fun alone.

Jan split a box of food with me that she picked up from 2 Dog Farms. Those odd white carrots were good roasted.

Time for the big blue and white egg!

One last cold snap brings this.

Quarantine

Life is strange now with Coronavirus looming large. Trying to stay in. We had planned Book Club birthday for Sue but decided to forgo a restaurant. Jill kindly offered her house and I picked up Pizza Shack salads.

Don’t worry. We stayed safe. Just kidding.  We didn’t wear these the whole time.

Priscilla won for funniest gift.

The toilet paper situation has gotten ridiculous.

Had a delay in bed making today. Look at that side eye he is giving me.

Violets are blooming so well. Transplanted these from Riverwood. They never thrived quite as well at my house.

St Patrick’s day

Mom brought out all the gang to celebrate St Patrick’s day.

The Irish flag is donated to the cause by her friend and neighbor, Father Paul. He is originally from Ireland.

The toilet paper aisle at Kroger the other day. This virus is making us crazy. Did get a laugh from Mom when I sent her in some needed toothpaste. I included the classic emergency food.....Deviled Ham!!

I’m in love with friend Matthew’s dog, Armani.

Bev had us over for Book Club.

Beautiful spring table.

Delicious pot roast, broccoli and homemade biscuits.

Yep.  That is us.

Amy brought Truffles new toys. Much appreciated.

Went to see Linda. Her cat Daman looks so much like my Pepper.

Linda and Jan warming by the new fire logs they have.

Armani again.  He guards his treats ferociously from the other dogs who are much bigger.

Love this MC Escherish photo of the trees reflected in my wine glass. Wish I could draw it.

One more cat pic. Spooky G at work. I worked a couple of hours for Amy.

Sitting out on the deck now.

So many pretty scenes.

Spiderwort or Blue eyed grass

These small azaleas always bloom.

A few whites.

And one of the pigs.
