Continuing ๐ŸŽŠ

The partying continues with Mom's 90th  festival continuing. Her favorite pie is Black Bottom. The origins of this pie are as murky as the muddy Mississippi that some suggest is the basis of the dark chocolate bottom layer. Wideman's in Meridian and the now defunct Mary Frances Tea Room were early servers of this dessert. I called in expert help. It took about a hundred steps and half the pans in my kitchen to pull this off. Mary Grace made ginger snap crust, cooked custard, unflavored gelatin, real whipped cream and added a bit of rum. I washed and handed items and separated eggs and washed pans. The result?

At serving time, Ryan said no little tiny Ellis slices. Everyone gets a big slice and guess what...we all ate it...all of it.

We shared pictures and memories.  Check out her blog for more details.

Paul made perfect baked beans and MG added her excellent coleslaw.

Also felt compelled to share Ryan's creation.

Hope she gets her wish. We also put together a photo book for her. How lucky can we all be to have this wonderful woman for all of our lives?

I published 2 posts today so don't miss the shower one posted earlier.
