Shower

Hosted a Bridal shower for Ivy’s friend Leah.

But first I got help from Mary Grace and Sophie. MG made the cupcakes and Sophie iced them. She also helped me with heart sandwiches...

...and fruit kabobs.

I made these white chocolate dipped pretzels.

Ivy decorated the front.

They were greeted with big pearl necklaces. Whoever ended up with the most at the end won a prize.

That’s Leah in the glasses.

The table all set.

Pink and gold are her colors.

Got to use the new vases again.

Pink sangria.

Everyone enjoyed the food.

One guest brought her sweet little boy. He enjoyed our hot wheel cars.

We played a game where you got points for items in your purse. I certainly lost with my minimalist purse.

You can see the winner of the necklace challenge. Then of course presents. Lots of fun.

I’m back

My little miracle worker, Sophie, got me back on the blog!

I was trying to throw away the white pumpkins and Truff got so excited that I had to throw them off the deck for her.

One last chew.

Ivy stopped to see me and was excited about her new glasses. Just like mine.

I had Mary Grace take this cute pic of an ice filled bird nest. It was not easy since this was a rose bush.

Saturday selfie.

Lovely setting for birthday celebration.

They greeted us with white sangria.

The old folks

Mom learning how to use her new smart phone we gave her. After a fabulous lunch of roasted leg of lamb and veggies....cake.

33, 91 and 42 never looked so good!

Make a wish.

Hope they all come true.

The next morning  I took Mom for her blood draw and check. In between (she had to fast) we had breakfast downstairs at the Manship. She said it was the best coffee ever.

After they issued her the ball length gown, high jinx ensued. They said she was an extremely healthy 91 year old.   Tell us something we don’t know.

Later Candy convinced me to try aluminum shoes. Something about removing toxins from the body

Don’t know about all that but it looks like Magic was in the air. Will let y’all know.

Also one more good luck sign.

And spotted Whitey the white squirrel who lived outside Candy’s Summertree house.

No more pics

Due to aging phone and other factors I don’t completely understand, I can no longer post pictures on blog. 😞. I’m not sure I can paint pictures with words like my mom does. So the blog future is unknown.

More cold and Book Club

More cold has come our way. We have spent 2 more days inside.

There are stand offs over the best sofa spots.

Truff finding a tent under my feet.

Like I used to tell the girls when I had an empty tube. Everything is funnier when spoken through a tube. Truff was not amused.

Had Mary Grace this picture of this cute bird nest. It was not easy because this was a rose bush.

Book Club at Priscilla’s. Beautiful plate. All was so good. Didn’t get a picture of fabulous deep dish apple pie with crunchy top. Yum.

All here but Sue. But we had a special visitor.

Baby Mary Somers. And of course Mom, Melanie!

She is a doll.

She sat and visited a bit.

She even approved the menu. But she only had eyes for Nana!!

Little visitors

First off, Toby got a bath...on the coldest day of the year. He needed it though and he got a blow dry.

Got so excited that Brody and Lelia were coming over. I went in the freezing attic and got toys. They all love those castles.

Toby did not like that baby doll and he let her know.

She was not getting away with anything. To my disappointment, Lelia is not a doll lover yet. At least I got to play with her a bit. I always loved every kind of doll.

As predicted they loved the castles.

Well she did check baby’s diaper. And compared the doll’s belly button to her own.

Can’t go wrong with cars.

Then we made peanut butter blossoms.

I couldn’t believe his patience as I showed him how we wait and squish them as the chocolate melts.

He did great! Lelia just wanted the plain kisses. She is a purist.

The final pay off. Hot completely melted chocolate.

In case you missed it. Article in CL about The Bank

She did a nice job.
