I gave in to Fall

I didn’t decorate last year because of stupid COVID. Although we did have quite a few trick or treaters. We have a new crop of kids in our neighborhood so I decided I better light it up. Things are a little scruffy but still ok.

Inside I had to decorate around the remotes.

Bell peppers were on sale. They looked so pretty that I couldn’t resist. Forgot to take a picture after they were stuffed and baked.

Just a relaxed dog picture.

Air fry

So, I’ve been wanting an air fryer. I must admit that after this I cooked potatoes and breaded shrimp. It did well with the breaded stuff but the veggies were more like roasted.

Sandy wants whatever toy Coco has. She gives her the eye.

Then the sweet kiss.

Didn’t work. Coco held her ground.

Mary Grace and I tried out the new cute Thai place in Highland Village. It was so good. Sorry I didn’t get a pic. We sat outside and it was so nice. We walked around and looked at all the new shops. I have such good teenage memories of shopping there. Remember the Nitty Gritty boutique? I also worked a few years at the General Store gift shop.

Used leftover pot roast to make beef pot pie with biscuits on top. Baked in the oven in my iron skillet.

Musical beds.

It started like this.

Juju in the dog bed.

Coco finally gave up.

The next day Juju decided he wanted Coco’s chair.

She tried to ignore him but…

He won.

Had to have a huge pine tree cut. How big?

Big enough for a long dog.

Back to the couch.

Free

To prevent Ed from buying Halloween candy at Dollartree, I bought some of the good stuff.

I left it alone for a few days but then I saw this poor little Heath bar trapped inside.

I made a tiny little slit to help him escape. I bet kids don’t appreciate toffee anyway.

Fall Book Club at Kathy’s is always special. Look at these appetizers. She made little pumpkins out of peeled tangerines.

Table was lovely.

Her centerpiece on what I’m sure is her Russian linens. She even made the velvet pumpkins.

Our plates.

Time to sit down and discuss the book.
We all liked it. It was about the Dakota apartment building.

Very special Waldorf salad.

The salad, butternut squash soup, pumpkin bread and smoked chicken.

This was an apple cake that knocked us out.

Natchez 4

Ok. Had a pause there while we drove home.

After Amy’s meeting by the beautiful pool (no pic), we walked a little around the grounds.

The poultry house with dovecote on top.

You can stay in the dairy house.

Went back in and had dinner. That is a fried lobster tail.

As we left the trees were lit up.

Downtown park. Christmas decorations are still up from the filming of a Hallmark movie. It will be A Christmas in Natchez.

In the middle of the main downtown intersection. Amy was yelling at me because the light was green.

The next day we walked through a couple of shops. Maybe I do want to keep being an Interior Designer after all.

Once again my favorite blue and white is experiencing a surge of interest.

Yay!  It was open this time.

I couldn’t believe liver and onions was on the daily lunch specials.

Natchez 3

Next on to Dunleith. Big copper sugar vats had lilies and goldfish.

The Castle. The restaurant part of Dunleith.

It was the old carriage house.

Natchez 2

Don’t you just love soft hotel bedding?

Don’t judge me.

ANOTHER disappointment. Biscuits and Blues CLOSED!!

Finally found someone open. Rolling River Reloaded was very good.

Pretty park.

Beautiful new liquor store.

They have a machine that chills your wine in 5  minutes.
