Storm over

Not a good picture but you get the gist. The dogs enjoyed exploring the messy post storm yard. I just feel so bad for our Louisiana neighbors. Ivy and Tripp were fine in Lafayette.

So how about a little food blogging. For some reason I was craving Rice a Roni. I even took Mom’s tactic and googled it’s story. Actually very interesting. A woman in San Francisco invented it. Hence the “San Francisco treat” motto. I used to cook it a lot when I was cooking for a family of five on a budget. It went a long way for not much money.

And I can’t even begin to compete with Mom’s breakfast chronicles. She does such a nice job every day. This was Jim Dandy grits with Kerry Gold Irish butter. I’m sorry I discovered it.

This was a little healthier a few days ago. Asparagus omelet and watermelon.

Naughty dogs

Well , not naughty , just being dogs.

It’s my own fault for having a white bedspread. It should be fun when we get 4-6” of rain in the next few days.

The perp. They always return to the scene.

Then I walked into the den and there was my night gown in the center of a tug of war. We

27

My Godson , Chris turned 27 today

Gorgeous cake Matthew brought from New Orleans. A Deberge cake. Many layers , lovely crunchy on the outside icing. Creamy inside. The message on top is a quote from the comedy , The Office. It was half lemon half chocolate. My two favorites.

Look at that!!!!

Mom, he made me include this JUST FOR YOU. Said it was for Mamaw. Sorry about that. Candy looking good. Feeling better every day.

These mushrooms looked like potatoes. Butter inside.

Little cutie.

Big ole

Several out front.

It is so dry. I am surprised.

This is a Margaret homemade pot pie. I had to test it to be sure it was done!!!

Finally 65

Can y’all guess what day it is without me telling you what day it is?

Ok, need another hint?

Ed’s birthday. His 65th to be exact. There is so much paperwork to getting Medicare, Social Security, etc that it took all of 64 to get done.

We had a lot of help. Ed helped me for real. Made it much faster.

Junior was taunting the dogs.

Then everyone settled in for a night.

Sentimental journey

What a journey we went on today. Candy wanted to take a trip to the old Woolverton family cemetery. It is located in Stonewall, MS.

After a loooong and winding road and many laughs. We found it. The old Millbrook plantation site is on one side of the road and the cemetery is on the other.

We finally found it. Very grown up.

Found several generations of Woolvertons.

Two Woolverton brothers moved here and married two sisters. They were the Hand sisters. This is Ruby Hand Woolverton.

Candy taking a look at another Thomas Woolverton.

We couldn’t get to all the interesting ones.

It was also blistering hot.

That is not to say we didn’t have fun though!

Anna was our excellent driver. I packed a lunch from Beagle Bagel. Now Candy is home and resting up for Thursday’s surgery. Put her on your prayer list that day, Mom.

Incommunicado

If you were wondering why my mountain trip blogs ended suddenly, it is because I lost my phone. So that means I lost all my pictures of our last day. I left it in the stinkiest bathroom by the beautiful Ocoee river. I was in such a hurry to get out of that nasty latrine that I grabbed my bag but left my phone. Once I realized it half an hour later and went back, it was gone.

Well it was good to get back to see everyone here. I call this Sandy’s bathing beauty pose.

The cuteness.
