Beach 3

Shrimp night. We get the shrimp early in the morning from Mr. Plash. I'm not making that up. Straight off the boat.

It is Joe's night to shine. However Ryan looks on.

Perfect.

Ok. Lorelei heard about birthdays being celebrated. Well she wanted hers celebrated. So cupcakes for everyone.

So good.

Beach continued

Everyone pitches in to unpack. Brody helpfully carried in the Cheeto supply.

The kitchen was fabulous. You could tell a designer was involved. 3 fridges and 3 dishwashers. 24 people is a lot!

Juice for everyone!

M&M's are important.

Paul agreed.

First day breakfast. Jan's pound cake , Cary's sausage balls and Beagle Bagel spreads...oh and some fruit somehow got on there.

Sunday we celebrated mine and Tommy's birthdays along with all Dad's.

We had special cups.

Fun decorations from Jan and Linda.

There was a huge dining table.

Presents.

And cake. Do I still get my wish if I can't blow out battery operated candle?!

Ryan and Joe operate the pineapple corer and peeler.

First day at the beach was beautiful. Check out our crazy new tent.

Kari's makes a perfect fish

It begins

(Could not post from the beach. So here goes catch up!)

Beach Week 2017 that is. We had to miss last year due to the happy addition of Leila. Mom, Mary Grace, Ryan and I loaded into their Subaru and took off.

First stop is always coffee and biscuits in Magee.

After crazy traffic and some even crazier detours to avoid it, we ended up at Original Oyster House on the causeway. We picked it just because these two love their flame grilled oysters.  The waitress came to the table and said the only thing we don't have on the menu is...guess what? Their Grill had caught on fire last week. See the sign above them? That was a Grill cam up there. It was currently showing a ball game.

Unpacking begins.

Juice for everyone.

M&M's

Paul samples them.

First day breakfast.  On with day one.

Old is new

Bricks are sealed now. They really darkened up.

Conduits were very shiny. After a bit of research they tried murietic acid to age them. Turned out great

These conduits will host a fixture over each booth.

Not sure that I posted the magnificence of the new pantry

Pet food roll out bins on bottom. Broom closet I never had on left.

Karen , do you recognize anything in there? That stamp covered pencil holder was my Mamaw Brown's. Had to keep it!!! Have used it for 30 some years   She had it on a telephone table in the hall.

Finishing up

Lunch at St. Katherine's on the terrace. They are all decked out for all the patriotic holidays.

Mom went with a beach theme for her hall table she maintains. Zoom in on the picture far right to see she and Dad at the beach.

Hey! New glasses from Candy as a kitchen warming gift. Speaking of which...

It's done except the floor.

Before.

After.

Bathroom. These pictures don't do this justice.

Book Club at Bev's. Ridiculously good appetizer. Oat biscuits (homemade....Bev told us it said so right on the label) , topped with Brie and fig preserves.

Tomato tart with vine ripened tomatoes, bacon and fruit. All yummy. Followed by blueberry cream pie and great discussion.

We loved the book.
