Food post

Food news seems to be all I’ve got. Had a brunch on Memorial Day to also celebrate Sophie’s 36th birthday.

I cut off her sweet head.

First tomato tart of the season. Then we went out on the boat for a ride and swim.

Jerk chicken, black beans and yellow rice.

Made a perfect quiche Lorraine. There is only half because I shared with Jan and Tommy. She provided the cheese.

Growing

Wanted to show y’all how big all my pots have gotten.

Cutie with her ball.

Herbs too.

But when I got to this pot, I got a big surprise. Or should I say a very little one.
Look at these tiny guys.

No bigger than a pin.

Workation 2

There is a Bubba Gump shrimp co. here. There is Forrest’s suitcase and chocolates.

Amy’s colleague here took us to dinner there. Mom would have loved this.

Oysters for me.

Lunch by marina.

Dinner at Patio 44. It was so pleasant outside that evening.

My redfish looked like an alligator. Tons of cheese grits.

A little spa treatment back in the room. We had to walk so much because the property is so big.

Workation

Headed to Biloxi for a workation with Amy2. We will catch up on some overdue filing and other things.

I can work here.

View from Golden Nugget hotel.

Ya gotta love an electric hole puncher. Don’t worry. We will have fun too.

Crystal clear

Y’all may remember a few months ago Sophie found me some new (to me) vintage glasses finally got around to culling my old ones and replacing them.

Hope I didn’t get rid of your favorite. I didn’t show all I got rid of to protect the innocent.

Of course there were some bumps down memory lane. My light up Frodo goblet. He went in and out of the box a couple of times. Did he make the cut?  I got it from a Burger King give away. It used to light up. Drank out of it on Halloween sitting out front with Candy, giving out candy.

Look how clear and bright they are!

Come over and have a glass of tea or cocktail with me.

Oops. Forgot Mother’s Day. Sophie and I pulled off the table.

Happy to have Linda and Joe here.

And Janny Bird.

Had Brunch and presents. Sorry for picture quality.

Took Mom to heart doctor. She is fine. Just a check. But afterward took her to Old Capitol Inn for lunch
On the patio. They are working on State Street so the place was very empty. Hope they get it done soon.

The special was broccoli, lemon potato soup and grilled chicken salad.

One more project

We have had this tub since we first built this house. We used to fill it with ice and beverages for parties. No big parties any more. Ed drilled holes in it.

Filled it with good dirt and voila. New planter.

Filled it with herbs. Parsley, basil, rosemary, chives, oregano and thyme. There still is a little room for more.

All done

That’s my favorite cup on the left. Life imitating art on the right.

Look how much my new pads look like the fish bowl.

I love them.

It’s hard to see the fish because of the glare but they seem happy.

Very nasty fungi.

Flowers

Went to Moore’s to fill my pots. They had sold out of a lot but had what I wanted.

Got polka dot plant in 3 colors.

Does it get any more redneck than this? Box fan AND bug zapper.

I can always count on begonias.

I’ll try to get goldfish today.

Had fun the other day. We made 500 sausage balls to be used to feed needy folks in partnership with Wells church. You may not be able to see it but I had flour all over me.

These ladies showed up and knocked it out.

Mary Grace was great to host the party. She has the best kitchen.

And the biggest beast oh a mixer.

Always feels good to help others.

The fruits of our labor.

Had a slight problem making the bed again today.
