60th do over

Amy 2 (my good friend), has had a couple of disappointing, to say the least , birthdays. Last year’s 60th was especially dud because of Covid. It featured pretzels and animal crackers ( store brand ) at her own house. Bev and I resolved to make up for it.

Mary Grace graciously offered her lake house as the setting.

Pam provided the beautiful and delicious cake, made by her daughter, Carly.

Everybody’s favorite dips.

Several wines to sample.

Her favorite color is purple.

I think she enjoyed it.

Let’s hope 62 is great next year.

Oh and add another grandog! MG and Ryan welcomed Pippin to the family.

Lots of things

Book Club is getting back to normal.

We are all fully vaccinated and eager to be together. Sue set a lovely table. We read Kristin Hannah’s latest The Four Winds. After reading this book about the depression and the dust bowl. We are lucky to have food on the table at all.

Lovely salad with chicken and great butter baked crackers. Dessert was buttermilk lemon ice box pie.

Check out this cute one.

Destruction

Decided to treat y'all to the daily destruction around here. This was a small one Sandy chomped.

My cute coasters. Oh and she pulled it out from under a cup that had  liquid in it. Twice.

They both snipped the tops off my new curly plant.

New heights.

Not ashamed just sleeping.

And more sleeping.

Sandy was so mopey the day Coco was at the vet for her spay.

They even found a golf ball.

More mushrooms

Chris came over and made a mushroom bed for me!

Bale of hay to start.

He says they will taste like bacon. Maybe we can make MLTs.

Spread it out.

Sprinkle the spores on.

Top it off with more straw.

He was reaching for a stick and spotted a King snake.

They are good snakes to have because they keep away poisonous ones.

All done!!  Thank you Chris. ❤️

Hooliganism

That is what Ed calls the dog girls, hooligans. And at times I agree.

This just one of the tennis balls they have unearthed in our yard.  They must have found 30 of them. We have had a lot of dogs here.

This one was ancient.

They knocked over this 50 pound urn.

Just this morning they got the pump out of the fountain and dispatched it. Then they went on to take a plastic pot with a plant in it from a table and shredded it.

Look at these cool mushrooms.

They look like leather cups.
