Coffee book club 2

It started with this book. About a man bringing coffee to America by direct trade. Coffee originated in Yemen. Paul knows a young man who has done some of the same. 

After being lost in mid-town ( 5 Madison women in a Lexus ), we found the place.  It was so cool. 

Raw coffee beans were everywhere. 

These were from Guatemala. 

Trey even let us taste some. 

It’s called cupping. Although you do it with a spoon. 

You are supposed to slurp loudly. We couldn’t do it. Too many years of Southern training wouldn’t let us slurp.   

Book Club

It’s always fun to go to Pam’s house in the fall. Appetizers greeted us. 

Along with a little vampire wine. How cute. Came in a coffin.

So , we sat down to eat and discuss The Monk of Mokha.  Loved it and learned about coffee origins and one man’s determination to get Yemini coffee to the U.S.  Pam had ordered some of his actual coffee and we got to enjoy it with dessert. Food was great. Got so distracted by everything else that I don’t take food pics.
