I thought these mushrooms were beautiful.

This ridiculous rain, heat and accompanying humidity have created the perfect fungi environment

But after more rain and heat it now looks like a perfect flower.

Mary Grace got a craving for Smokey Oats.

In cookie related news...this can of pumpkin has been lurking in the pantry since last fall.

Thought I would try this cookie recipe.

Great looking dough. Tasted pretty good.

We will see.

They baked up cakey and moist. Alas healthy and cookies are not exactly compatible. They were ok.

Finishing up Rev. Lance's series on brokenness I did this altarscape.

Unfortunately this week in the world fit well in with the theme.

Looks like all I do is eat

Candy and I decided to pay one last visit to Bravo before they close for remodeling. They are offering all furnishings for sale. We thought there may be something we could use for Pizza Shack. Nope. The mushroom soup was excellent however.

Book Club at Sue's today. We read The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines , the couple from
Fixer Upper.

She set a lovely table as always with flowers from her yard.

We started off with cauliflower hummus. It was so good and healthy.

Great salad with beets that she roasted, apples, pears pecans and goat cheese. I didn't take a picture of the buttermilk pie that was for dessert. That is because my face was all up in it.

Sunny with a chance of burgers

Candy planted sunflowers all down her fence early this summer. Here are the fruits of her labors.

Beautiful.

There were many varieties.

A few inside.

So dramatic. That big one is as big as a dinner plate.

Sharing them with John Parker, Lucy's summer charge.

Dupree relaxing at grandma's house.

Mom had a burger craving. Mugshots cured it. Dang, those fries are good.

A lady at Freshway told me that she roasts her okra. It is great. Olive oil and salt. 400 degrees for 15 minutes. That is eggplant casserole in the background.

Beloved pet

Sad day.

The Woolverton's sweet Westie, Ellie passed away Saturday. We are all so sad.

She lit up everyone's life!

Somehow she made everyone feel like they were her favorite.

With her co pet Gibbs, they welcomed Lucy home from college.

We will miss you , sweet Little Little.

Pool party

Don't be jealous. It was a redneck pool party with champagne. MG and Ryan saw this pool on clearance and jumped on it. Wish I had gotten a pic of Daphne and Mary Grace as they joined us.

We all keep reshuffling furniture. Sophie sent these snack tables my way.

Our new office set up.

A little froyo with Lucy before she heads back to school. No judgements here on which one looks healthier.

More cleaning out

Five of us and one guy for heavy lifting took on the daunting task of cleaning out the United Methodist Women's closet. We had 2 hoarders, 2 pitchers and one on the fence. I have become a ruthless pitcher as you know. There were tons of these choir robes.  I'm sure we all wore those.

Dog news. New bed for Toby. I bought Truffles one as well but she was having nothing to do with it.

She would rather be on the couch by me. I'm just getting ready to recover it and wish she would relocate.

House done Restaurant not

More developments. Bathrooms framed out

The bar is up. This was no small feat as several posts had to be cut through the floor and dug deep into the ground.

Chris, recovering from a back injury is reduced to mostly moral support.

Blank slate. Went up and down the stairs about 50 times this weekend carrying everything back down.

I hate my books....I love my books.

Do you know how much yearbooks weigh? Photo albums?

Now for the mementos. I couldn't get rid of hardly any of it. Too sentimental. But at least it is all corralled in one spot.

Realized it is sort of...my side

And his side.  Love the 3 wedding boutonnières. And a beach shelf.

Got everything back in place.

Even in the kitchen. And there are actually empty shelves in the cabinets!

Hope I didn't get rid of anything I will regret.  Chairs are headed to upholsterer

Think they need it?

Those nasty little kids did a good job on them.
