New adventure and 60 looks good

Exciting news! Ryan is working on Pizza Shack Clinton.

It is in an old bank building in the old brick street downtown of Clinton. These gorgeous old floors have survived somehow.

All these partitions will come down.

You can't buy this look anywhere.

Walls down.

After I left there I went to Old House Depot, one of my favorite shops. Lots of cool old wood to build tables and bar.

Just took this because it looked amazing.

Got together behind this curtain at Sakura Bana...

...to celebrate Priscilla's 60th. Loved this little private room.

Kathy made this funny chalkboard.

Joined at her house for cake, wine and the traditional 60th birthday song. Priscilla normally writes these so Jill and I did our best to write one for her.

Presents!

Lucy

I've been seeking refuge in our upstairs bathroom while workers are here. It is also the only working shower for now. Imagine my shock when I went in, closed the door and sat down on the potty, only to see a hand and a paintbrush moving outside the window! The painter was on the roof repairing the back dormer. I took care of business fast!

A faint impression of wallpaper past behind towel ring.

You can see it a little better here. Guess previous paint jobs painted around the fixtures. I loved that wallpaper. It was called "Lucy". Back in those days it was expensive.

It looked great with my pink countertops. And speaking of Lucys. Goddaughter Lucy will be home soon after a week at the beach. So proud of her and how well she has done.

Progress

Sought respite from reno at Candy's.

Her patio is looking good.

Ellie thinks so too.

This mama mallard duck has made a nest right outside the entrance to Mom's building at St. Katherine's building. She is lucky to have the residents all looking out for her.

He doubles as a pillow.

Hey! We made the front page!

The dogs now have dinner with a view.

Coming along.

Love the colors.

New pantry gets it slightly darker grey color.

Smart cat

Truffles, Toby and I are hunkered out on the deck while the terrible shower unit is being severed by a really loud saw.

Had to laugh out loud when Sophie sent me this. One side of the box said "Advice".

And this side.

The perpetrator. That face!

Cutting it out.

Hey... don't judge me on my nasty tub. Back in 1987 we thought these acrylic units were great. No grout lines. However they stained horribly.

Still digging up the past

Cleaning out the study this morning trying to stay out of the way. Found an envelope with pics of my Ellis grandparent's 50th anniversary. Here they are with their children. Cecil, Eva D, Grandaddy Ellis, Mamaw Ellis, Truman and Norris. I'm kind of digging those drapes.

This group liked to call themselves the Outlaws. Leon, Irene, Dot and Ruby.

Bathroom will be torn out tomorrow. Good riddance.

Why do I save my yearly planners?

Mom in her beehive do holding Charlie.

Smaller cat and smaller girl than last post holding Possum.

Ripped this picture taking it out of frame. Mom looks no different now than about 10 years ago.

Realities of reno

Cabinets getting first coat.

Ed and I will be getting close tonight. All furniture pushed to center.

Toby tries to figure it out. LOVE the new color. No one but me can tell the difference in the colors. Can y'all?

Temp kitchen reduced

Actual kitchen gets moved into dining room.

Sat outside as long as we could to air things out. Guess I'll snug into my spot for the evening.

Reflections

Anna's new kitty. Look at that tail

Her other new kitty. They bought them this patch of grass to nibble on. She decided it made a better bed.

And finally...Possum   Yes , he is that big. He was like a big rag doll.

Temporary kitchen.

Packing up nostalgia. Boutenaires from each wedding. They reflected each girl's tastes. There was much more nostalgia but Mary Grace was having no hesitation.

Up and down the stairs 200 times carrying boxes makes legs sore.

More stuff.

Toby and Ed watching TV.

Found the cutest mirror on the website Houzz. Found out it was from Kalalou. Went to the Outlet store and it was sitting out front for $10 with a broken mirror. Took it to get a new one for $45!
